CASE IV 2008 Scholarship Information


Start the new academic year off right by doing some professional development planning for yourself or new members of your staff.

District IV is again providing scholarships for new advancement professionals to attend the district conference and the New Professionals in Advancement Workshop. The New Professionals in Advancement Workshop opens our District IV Conference and is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, April 5-6, 2008.  The scheduled new professionals program will provide an overview of the various aspects of advancement as well as trends in advancement.  The entire conference runs from Saturday, April 5 through Wednesday, April 8 and will be held at the Peabody Hotel in Little Rock, Arkansas.

The assistance of veteran CASE members (individuals with at least 3 years experience in the institutional advancement profession) is requested in identifying and nominating participants who can benefit by attending. Up to 20 scholarships are available this year for entry-level advancement professionals. The scholarships will include:

  • waiver of the District IV Conference registration fee;
  • waiver of registration for the New Professionals in Advancement Workshop;
  • up to $500 in travel and hotel expenses.

 

Qualified applicants must:

  • be new to the advancement field (three years or less)
  • have not previously attended a CASE District IV Conference
  • work at institutions that are CASE members
  • commit to attend the New Professionals in Advancement Workshop and the District Conference if awarded the scholarship.

 

A veteran District IV member must recommend the scholarship nominee and is responsible for forwarding a complete nomination package. A committee including representatives of each of the District states and Mexico, as well as the chair of the New Professionals committee, will make the selections.

A complete nomination package includes the following:

  • a completed nomination form signed by the nominating member
  • a brief resume, including academic information of the nominee
  • a 250-word statement from the nominee regarding career goals
  • a letter of recommendation for the nominee from the nominating member

Note new deadline:   Nomination packages must be postmarked no later than Friday December 14, 2007. Scholarship recipients should be notified by January. Only one scholarship recipient will be selected from a member institution.  No applications accepted after the deadline.

Old applications ARE NOT kept on file.  A new application is needed for 2008.
