The WHY generation is old school

Why Generational Analysis is Old School: Findings and Results from the Alumni Attitude Study.  This presentation addresses the question of whether membership in a dues-paying association is the best way to identify and develop alumni with a higher potential for involvement. Executives in alumni relations, development, and communications discuss how alumni survey results and study findings have been implemented and how they have supported a more integrated approach to alumni relations.

The $Dues$ and Don’ts

Ongoing research from the Alumni Attitude Study recently brought together a working group of advancement leaders to assess the impact of dues-paying verses non-dues-paying associations on the overall university-alumni relationship. The survey was designed to identify and compare perceptions of how well associations support alumni involvement, giving, and programming. Learn ways to assess your success in this involvement issue and explore what opportunities can work best for your institution.

Effective Career Center-Alumni Relations on a Shoestring

There is so much potential for collaboration between career centers and alumni relations operations yet in many universities there are limited funds and an even more limited number of staff members in each of these areas. Hear how Texas State has developed a partnership that maximizes resources from these two departments to provide services that are beneficial to both alumni and current students.

Web-based Communication, You Have Mail and More!

Electronic communication is fast becoming the format preferred by most alumni. Learn how to effectively reach and interact with your constituents faster, better and cheaper than conventional media. The University of Missouri has been on the forefront of several electronic communication trends this decade earning three CASE Circle of Excellence Gold Medals. Learn what Mizzou is doing to maximize the potential of electronic communication through e-newsletters, mass e-mail and web-based services. The session outlines the planning process, describes what has and hasn’t worked, and tells howvarious programs can be adapted tomost alumni associations.

Affinity Programs

There is major concern among alumni directors around the country about today’s generation of students. Will they be as supportive of their university as other generations? Indications are they will not. This leaves all of us scrambling for other sources of income to meet the demands placed on us to support the growth and development of our universities. We will attempt to explore in this session many of those sources, large and small.

A Tour of Homecoming
2:00 p.m. - 3:15 p.m.

Join us as we take a peak into areas of Homecoming planning and execution.  Taking on the tasks of setting goals, increasing student and alumni participation, managing volunteers, collaborating with campus partners and determining your budget which can be overwhelming!  We will discuss key points in these areas in hopes of making our lives as alumni professionals a little easier.  There will also be an opportunity to share best practices in a larger group setting to help find new and innovative ideas to continually improve Homecoming programming.
